Andrew Keir is one of Australia’s most up and coming graphic designers, he is a freelance designers with over 30k of followers on Twitter. His designs are simple but get the point across.

One of his more famous designs is for Motorhead one of Sydney’s biggest automotive dealership for parts and accessories, he goes on to state their old brand was quite simple primarily graphical logo. The new logo is intended to be used in single colour print on a variety of challenging substrates including materials, plastic and metals. Andrew’s logo’s are simple and are straight to the point, he explores his vision of the clients views. He uses such straight edges that bring the design to life, it is done in a way where you know exactly what the designer is trying to accomplish.

For his design in Giordano Barista you can clearly make out where the design is going and what the meaning behind this image is, a coffee cup and steam, it clearly states a coffee brand.

The Vera Oils, design shows a singular olive with a V in the middle representing the growing and flourishing into company.

The Maxim Transport, is one of the most well known designs globally, the freight companies logo states to get somewhere faster you need to use Maxim, Keir has used his imagination in putting a right arrow into the X stating that to get somewhere faster you need to go in the RIGHT direction.

Star Paper is a small Sydney business creating their own paper resources for bigger vendors, with Keir’s design he established a white start on a blue background as to the clients request.

Red Robin Kier is one of Melbourne’s privately owned book stores with the owner being a red haired lady names Robin, she wanted the store design to label herself, Kier in his artistically designer mind came up with a logo of a Red Robin, Red representing her hair and Robin well its quite obvious her name… this was well appreciated, however Robin was wishing to have a blue egg in the design as the but Keir thought it maybe of been to obscure and to leave it simple and representing what she owns.

In all Andrew Keir’s graphic design abilities are second to none and I believe his designs are perfect in how they represent themselves and with his creative abilities he will have a magnificent future and will only get better.

Pop Culture is one my favourite resources, pop culture these days can relate to vintage, modern and futuristic design, it can be re-created by graphic designers in a retrospective way which relates to their vision. My favourite designs are that of the abstract nature, where you can turn something normal into something creative and meaningful. 

In this piece you can graph the fact of Splinter being the father figure to the Ninja Turltes, he will always be there to protect them. the Designer in this instant can see the father figure and he can represent it in an amazing vision.

The Joker is one of the most craziest and spectacular enemies of Batman, the way the artist has captured one of the most memorable moments in the Batman series. Joker was one of the most interesting characters and still is to this day.

I believe the future can only get better, from here on in, we have come along way from VHS’s, Macintosh Computers and the old Nokia phones. In the future the past will come back to haunt us, your choice if its a good thing or bad, vintage is already starting to make an affect especially on how we view a lot of things example, 10-5 years ago you would never see an adult with a colouring book sitting on a train with their crayons, I believe paper will become a big thing of the past you will be writing and viewing alot of designs on your tablets, everything will become minimalist a straight line will no doubt represent a movie, just as a mockingbird now represents The Hunger Games. The Future is well upon us and its your
choice if you want to join the force or not!!

As I sit here an wonder what my favourite aspect of media is that identifies who I am as a graphic designer. Gaming is one of my favourite parts to media, its come a very long way in its industry and has basically taken over the world. It’s not only the gaming side that is continuously making waves its also the social media and music side that makes up the greatest gaming experience. Most nights you will see me chilling with listening to music playing whatever new game has been released with people who share the same passion as I do. This is where I get my inspiration and where I would eventually like to be.
